Luke’s beer quest began after tasting a friend’s home brew.
"It opened my eyes to what was possible with beer - I was hooked on those taste experiences and the whole culture of brewing. From that moment, I had to try and make for myself what I was tasting."
Luke Manifold, owner Lucky 7 Beer Co.
Luke started home brewing in his kitchen in 2011, producing 200 pints at a time. As demand for his beers grew, much to the relief of his family he set up a small brewery in a barn near his home. Whilst his brewery is still small scale he is now able to produce 1,800 pints a week.
Lucky 7 is one of 20 new Welsh breweries to appear in the 2017 edition of ale connoisseur club Camra’s Good Beer Guide and Luke also represented Hay in Cardiff at the ‘Brewfest’ beer festival, organised by Newport-based craft brewery Tiny Rebel. More recently Lucky 7 hosted a 'Tap Take Over@ at at independent craft beer and bottle shop, Beer Revolution, in Market Street.
Lucky 7 Beer Co makes modern, small-batch beers and inspired by bold-flavoured, American craft ales.
